how to make my home safer from break ins?
I have a little house, its actually a duplex and I was wondering how I can make it safer from someone breaking in through the doors or windows. Any ideas are appreciated, low cost ones are great to

A cheap way to go would be to keep a lamp or two on a timer to come on just before dark. It gives the impression that someone is home. The timers just plug into a wall and you plug the Appliance into it. Keep the windows locked.
Draw shades down in any rooms where things like a flat-screen tv and computer are in plain view.
If you have a porch light, get a socket that has a light sensitive eye that will turn the bulb on once it gets dark. They go between the socket and the bulb, and you just screw them right in like a light-bulb. Flip the switch on during the day, and it comes on automatically at night. They come pretty cheap (under $10).
You can do all this for under $20
